The development of the new iMac all-in-one computer is at the stage of “production testing,” Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman said, citing sources at Apple. Mass production will begin no earlier than June 2023, so the device will go on sale at best only in the second half of the year.
The screen diagonal will be 24 inches, like the iMac introduced in April 2021. Case colors include blue, silver, pink and orange. Gurman writes that the way the screen is attached to the leg has changed, as well as the location and appearance of some spare parts.
The M1 chip will be replaced with a new one. On which one - the sources did not tell, but Gurman himself admits that we can talk about the M3 processor. According to rumors, the company was going to introduce it in 2023 or early 2024.
At the end of spring or summer of 2023, Apple should also introduce three more devices. Most likely, these will be the first 15-inch MacBook Air laptop, the updated 13-inch MacBook Air, and the new Mac Pro workstation - for the first time with its own M2 Ultra processor.
With what chips laptops will come out is unknown. If with M2, then they will quickly “become obsolete”, and the 13-inch MacBook Air generally runs the risk of initially not impressing potential buyers, Gurman believes. According to him, it would be wiser to present the latter with the M3.
In July 2022, Gurman said that Apple would release a more durable Apple Watch for extreme sports. The official release came in September of the same year.
In January 2023, the journalist wrote that in 2025 the company could also introduce a MacBook Pro with a touch screen, but at that time the idea was under discussion.
